World Champions Italy will remain among the favorites to lift the trophy, but Roberto Donadoni has had a much-maligned run in to the tournament after having the difficult shoes of Marcelo Lippi to fill. Despite that, Donadoni will be hoping he helps Italy to their second European trophy. Italy progressed as winners of Group B in qualification.
