Juventus are set to make a move to sign Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint Germain, if Paul Pogba is sold to Manchester United, according to reports in France.

  • France Football is reporting that the Italian champions have identified 29-year-old Matuidi as the ideal replacement for Pogba, as they prepare to part ways with their number 10 in a world record breaking £100 million deal with Manchester United.

PSG are reportedly open to offers for Matuidi this summer, having already bolstered their midfield options with the signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla this summer for around €30 million.

Matuidi is a left sided box to box midfielder who has played a key role in Le Parisiens' recent success, and would fit straight in to Pogba's position on the left of Juve's midfield trio.

The Old Lady were also linked with a potential move for another PSG midfielder, Italian playmaker Marco Veratti. However, it is believed that Veratti s not for sale at any price, as the French club look to build their new post-Zlatan Ibrahimovic era around the midfielder who has recently returned from a groin injury which kept him out of the UEFA European Championships in France this summer.

Matuidi would likely be available for a transfer fee in the region of €30 million, a fee which Juventus could easily afford given the potential windfall of the Pogba deal.
