Sunderland join race for Liam Bridcutt's signature
Sunderland have reportedly joined the race for the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Liam Bridcutt during the upcoming transfer window.
The Black Cats have failed to make any significant move from the drop zone, and manager Gus Poyet is expected to be given a licence to make a couple of new signings during the winter transfer window.
Bridcutt, who is one of the Uruguayan's former players, is considered to be at the top of the Black Cat's shortlist, as the club look set to have another transfer spending spree during the New Year.
However, Sunderland are expected to have a bidding war with Premier League minnows Crystal Palace, who had a £1.75m bid for Bridcutt rebuffed during the summer.
