Colombian star finally moves to Madrid

Real Madrid have signed World Cup Golden Boot winner James Rodriguez from Ligue 1 side Monaco.

The 23-year-old Colombia forward has agreed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu.

The reported fee of about £63 million makes Rodriguez the fourth most expensive transfer of all time after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.

Rodriguez scored six goals in five matches at the World Cup as his side reached the quarter-finals.The Rodriguez deal comes less than a week after Madrid signed German World Cup winner Toni Kroos, who moved from Bayern Munich.

The former Porto forward scored nine goals in 34 Ligue 1 games for Monaco last season.Real Madrid have made the purchase which will rival Barcelona's signing of striker Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

He will be unveiled at Santiago Bernabeu at 20:00 CET according to the official release on Madrid's club website.
