Chelsea to join pursuit for Liverpool target?
Chelsea are reportedly mulling over an offer for Liverpool target and Southampton defender Dejan Lovren this summer, according to The Surrey Mirror.
The Reds have been constantly linked with a switch for the talented Croat over the past few weeks, with some reports revealing that the Saints had agreed on a deal to allow the player's transfer to Anfield.
However, this seems to be untrue, after manager Ronald Koeman revealed that there have been no further bids for the 24-year-old since negotiations reached a dead end.
Surrey Mirror claims that the Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen on signing a centre-back this summer, as he aims to have sufficient depth in the squad in case of injuries.
In addition to this, the West London giants could make a late bid to match the Saints' evaluation for the defender, as the club are keen on finding a genuine replacement for David Luiz.
Lovren made 32 appearances for the Saints in all competitions last season.
