Moreno interest reignited by Liverpool FC

Moreno was always Liverpool's number one left-back target but negotiations with Sevilla stalled. However, the Anfield giants are now back in the race for the player's signature.

The Reds' initial offer of £16million back in May was rejected with the La Liga outfit holding out for in excess of £20million. Sevilla's demands led to Liverpool looking at other options, including Swansea City's Ben Davies and Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand.

Moreno, who is only 22, shone in La Liga last season and helped Sevilla win the Europa League. He came through the youth ranks at Sevilla and made his senior debut in April 2012.

The Reds have reopened talks with Sevilla over left-back Moreno and are confident their summer-long pursuit of the Spain international will finally reach a successful conclusion.

The deal for Moreno would take Liverpool's summer spending past the £100 million mark as the Reds have already completed deals worth around £87 million for Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi and Emre Can.

The acquisition of Moreno would also delight Brendan Rodgers as he attempts to bring more defensive strength to his versatile Merseyside team.
