QPR to snap up Jonathan de Guzman after Swansea miss out on deal

Queens Park Rangers are hopeful that a deal to sign Dutch midfielder Jonathan De Guzman will be wrapped up before the start of the Premier League season on Saturday.

De Guzman spent last campaign on loan at Swansea City and impressed the Welsh club, who had been locked with the player's club Villarreal for over two months regarding a permanent deal.

However, the Swans refused to match Villarreal's 10 million euro valuation for hte set piece specialist and now Harry Redknapp, the QPR manager, has apparently agreed a deal for the Dutch star.

The player scored 9 goals in 71 games for the Welsh club and will arrive in London for talks on Monday afternoon.
