Man Utd plot swoop for Arsenal target

Manchester United are reportedly set to renew their interest in Arsenal target and Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, according to a report.

Carvalho has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, and manager Louis van Gaal has identified the 24-year-old as the perfect man to bolster his midfield ranks.

According to The Telegraph, United are lining up an offer of around £24m for the Portuguese international ahead of the transfer deadline on September 1.

The report also suggests that Van Gaal will seek to offload the likes of Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa and Tom Cleverley this summer, as he aims to evolve a revolution of his own at Old Trafford.

United have completed the signing of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Angel di Maria so far this summer.
