Decision to sell Agger 'incomprehensible', claims Olsen

Denmark’s national coach Morten Olsen believes Liverpool’s decision of letting defender Daniel Agger leave was not the right one, and insists that the Premier League side will regret this.

The Danish centre-back, who rose through the ranks with Superliga side Brondby, re-joined the club this summer after spending eight seasons with the Anfield side.

The 29-year-old had made a total of 232 appearances for the English club, and has 14 goals to his name, winning the League Cup and the Community Shield in his time with the Merseyside outfit.

He was also a part of the squad that were the runners-up in the Champions League back in 2007, and Olsen admits to having trouble wrapping his head around the idea of selling the talented player.

“I think Liverpool made ​​a mistake by letting a class player go. For me it is incomprehensible”, he told Danish daily BT.

“But it is a choice they have made ​​more or less by not using him.”

Agger made his international debut in 2005 earning 64 caps since then, and played for the Red and Whites in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the Euro Cup in 2012.
