Cristiano Ronaldo feels Di Maria and Falcao would improve the club's performance this season

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo feels former club Manchester United would benefit a lot with the signings of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao this summer.

The Argentine international joined the Red Devils’ for a transfer fee of £59.7 million on a five year contract from Real Madrid last week, while the Colombian striker was brought in from Monaco on a season long loan as a deadline day switch.

After a disastrous seventh place finish in the league last season, which was the Old Trafford outfit’s worst since 1990, Louis van Gaal’s side have already lost their first game against Swansea City this season, and drew the next two against Sunderland and Burnley, thereby managing just two points in three games till now.

They also suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss against League One side MK Dons, that saw them being knocked out of the League Cup, and Ronaldo believes the new summer signings could mark the beginning of better days for the English club.

“This can happen, you have good and bad moments. They have done very well with the transfers of Di Maria and Falcao” the Portuguese international was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

“They are much stronger now, and I look forward to seeing a better Manchester United because it is a great club.

“Manchester United did not start well, with two points from three games. So they were in need for top players and Falcao is such a player”, the 29-year-old added.
