United to complete Vidal deal in January

Manchester United will complete the signing of Juventus star Arturo Vidal in January, provided the midfielder proves his fitness following his knee injury.

The Chile international was the top most transfer target for new manager Louis van Gaal this summer, but with the player reportedly recuperating from an injury and the Red Devils’ bids being constantly rejected by the Serie A club, a deal could not come through.

However, if reports in Italian newspaper Tuttosport are to be believed, the 27-year-old will complete his much speculated move to the Old Trafford outfit in the winter transfer window, as the English club are pondering to offer Spanish international Juan Mata to the Italian giants as part of the deal.

Vidal, who joined the Zebras in 2011 from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, has made 95 appearances for them since his debut.

Manchester United have already strengthened their attack by bringing in Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera this season, and are keen on roping Vidal in, who himself will be hoping to add a stint in the Premier League to his resume.
