Ronaldo might return to Manchester United, claims former Real Madrid president

The rumours of star Cristiano Ronaldo’s surprise return to Manchester United have been given a huge boost by former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon, after he suggested that the Portuguese international was growing unhappy with the Whites.

The 29-year-old has clearly stated about his love for the Red Devils admitting that he hopes to return to Old Trafford someday, and with his former team-mate Angel Di Maria joining the Premier League side this summer, reports of the forward’s possible return next year have been doing the rounds.

Ronaldo joined United as a teenager from boyhood club Sporting Lisbon in 2003 under Sir Alex Ferguson, before he was sold to Real Madrid in 2009 for £80 million and has made 251 appearances since then scoring on 256 occasions.

He also won the Champions League with Carlo Ancelotti’s side last season, but Calderon feels the player is now uncomfortable with club president Florentino Pérez’s transfer policies.

“My impression is he is fed up with the policy of the current president. When he came with Robben he thought he would be a good colleague for him in the team (but then he was sold)”, he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“Two years ago it was Higuain sold and he didn't like that. Last year he thought it was a mistake to let Ozil leave and the last straw was selling Xabi Alonso and Angel di Maria this summer”, Calderon added.

Ronaldo had made 196 league appearances and had 84 goals to his name during his last stint with the English club.
