Liverpool interested in Seydou Doumbia

Liverpool are reportedly planning a bid in the region of £15m for the services of CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia.

The 26-year-old has been in top form for the Russian giants this season, and recently scored a brace in the 2-1 win at the Etihad to leave Manchester City on the brink of Champions League eviction.

According to The Mirror, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has identified the Ivory Coast hitman as a top transfer target for the club in the New Year.

The Merseysiders have struggled to notch up goals on a constant basis this season, with the likes of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing to hit the ground running.

Napoli have also shown interest in signing Doumbia.
