West Ham lead Schar chase
West Ham United are apparently leading the race to sign FC Basel defender Fabian Schar, according to The Sun.
The Swiss international was constantly linked with a switch to Arsenal last summer, but the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger opted to sign Calum Chambers from Southampton instead.
The Sun claims that the Hammers are ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the player's pursuit.
In addition to this, the opportunity to place regular first-team football in the English top flight could lure the talented centre-back into a switch to East London.
