Bayer Leverkusen in Mattia Destro talks

German side Bayer Leverkusen are ready to rival Aston Villa for Italian forward Mattia Destro, according to reports.

The Italian international has struggled for playing time at the Capital outfit in recent seasons, and is ready to move to a new club where he can be allowed to portray his talents.

Kicker reveals that Bayer Leverkusen are stepping up their efforts to sign up the 24-year-old, who had a disappointing loan spell with AC Milan last season.

It is added that Leverkusen will look to sign the talented striker on a temporary basis, with an option of a permanent deal in a year's time.
