Atletico Madrid target Nicolas Gaitan

Benfica winger Nicolas has reportedly been linked with a January transfer to Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine international was tipped to exit the Primeira Liga giants over the summer, with interest high from the Premier League.

However, things did not pan out, and the player decided to ply his trade with Benfica for the ongoing campaign.

Spanish source AS now reveals that Atleti boss Diego Simeone is a huge admirer of the player's talents, and will do his atmost to lure the 27-year-old to Vicente Calderon in the New Year.

Gaitan is likely to feature for his side when they visit the Basque outfit in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
