Incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte has decided against a move for Everton defender John Stones. The England international had been the subject of multiple bids from the Blues last summer, but the Toffees were not keen on his sale.

However, a report from The London Evening Standard says the Italian has dropped his interest in the centre-back following his average campaign in the Premier League this season.

The news is likely to provide a boost to league rivals Manchester City, who are expected to make an approach for the player's signature.

Stones has made 29 league appearances for the Toffees this term.
