Chelsea have a good team without spending money!!

We all saw last season that Chelsea had a very bad campaign. Eden Hazard and Diego Costa lost their form from the season before and selling one of their most loyal players in Petr Cech to London rivals, Arsenal, would never go well with the fans, but in the heart of this side there is a really good team that can be made.

Here it is in a 3-5-2 formation:

The goalkeeper:

Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgian shot stopper is all but certain to stay between the sticks unless the white side of Madrid have anything to do about it. They have a reported interest in Courtois having given up on the Spaniard De Gea. The London club value Courtois at around £73 million pounds.

Defence

Centre Back: Kurt Zouma.

It would be stupid to say that Kurt Zouma was not one of the best players Chelsea had last season. He was doing absolutely brilliant until that horror injury in February that cut his season, but with his brute strength and brilliant recovery time, he could be a right rock at the back.

Centre Back: Branislav Ivanovic

Despite a poor run of form last season, he is a world-class player at the back. It is just hard for him to carry out defending and attacking duties at the same time, but being a good worker will surely make him a new gem in central defence.

Centre Back: Gary Cahill

Finishing the three at the back is Gary Cahill. He is a defender who is very comfortable on the ball and is able to make runs into midfield and spray passes as well. He will be a very integral part of the team as he could be a source of attacking play if a midfielder is man-marked.

Midfield

Right-wing back: Juan Cuadrado

Cuadrado has rediscovered his best form in Turin for Juventus. Conte, being Italian, must have been keeping tabs on the Colombian, Cuadrado could find himself a starting place in the team. He has shown flashes of this playing for former clubs Udinese and Fiorentina, exploiting his speed, energy and crossing ability. These traits are perfect for a player that will be doing defensive and attacking duties in this role.

Left-wing back: Baba Rahman

Like Cuadrado, Rahman has the traits of an attacking wing-back: pace, stamina and a magnificent left-peg. The former Augsburg man earned reputation for making progressive runs into the other half. Conte must use this wonderful player.

Centre midfield: Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas would play the deep-lying playmaker that Pirlo was for Juventus when they won three Serie A championships under Conte. Very comparable to the Italian, Fabregas would need the muscle of two reliable and imposing teammates to protect him while he is the chief creator of chances.

Centre midfield: Nemanja Matic

If you want a powerful midfielder, Matic is one of the best in the league. Intercepting and tackling are his assets as well as his range of passing if needed in a fast break. It will be hard for Chelsea to keep him because Manchester United are hot on his heels as former Chelsea manager, now Manchester United manager, wants to purchase him in a swap cash deal including Matteo Darmian.

Centre midfield: Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Conte will need a tireless player in the heart of midfield for his philosophy to work. Oscar would be a good choice but is not very good in terms of defending and strength. This is where the Loftus-Cheek comes in. He has the physicality and the strength for the Premier League, remembering that he has under 15 games in the top flight. This 20-year-old has the potential to be one of the best players in the world, so this brilliant player could be a very good asset to Chelsea.

Attack

Second striker: Eden Hazard

Without the traditional wingers, the 3-5-2 would not accommodate the talent of Eden Hazard. Chelsea fans will hope that he finds the form that he was on in the closing stages of last season. The Belgian could be used behind the main striker which would often be his role while playing for former club Lille.

Striker: Diego Costa

Unless Conte can lure a big name signing, then the fiery Spaniard will resume his duties for the Stamford Bridge club. The beauty of Costa is the fact that you he can play in two of the best ways: as the main striker and a target man.
