Real Madrid interested in Moussa Sissoko

Real Madrid have emerged as shock contenders to land Newcastle United attacker Moussa Sissoko. The Frenchman has been tipped to leave the Magpies after their drop to the Championship.

The 26-year-old has caught the radar of many a clubs in Europe following his impressive display for France at the European championships.

Chronicle Live says Los Blancos are looking to add a powerful midfielder to their ranks, and consider Sissoko as the cheaper alternative to Paul Pogba.

Pogba was previously the prime target for the European champions before they were baffled by Juventus' £100m valuation.

Meanwhile, Sissoko is valued in the £35m range, and his addition could well add the much-needed versatility to Zinedine Zidane's attack.

Sissoko has appeared in 133 games for Newcastle United since his move from Toulouse in 2013.
