Mou sees no future for Rooney at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has adviced Wayne Rooney to seek a fresh challenge if he is to earn regular first-team football.

The England international has been off colour for the Red Devils this season, and this has seen him being dropped to the substitutes' bench.

According to The Sun, the Special One does not see Rooney as a regular in his plans, and has urged the England international to prolong his career elsewhere.

There has been interest from the Chinese Super League this month with Shanghai SIPG willing to offer the 30-year-old with a stunning £800,000 weekly package to head to the Far East.

Nevertheless, the experienced forward remains committed to the Red Devils, and is prepared to see out the remainder of his contract. (expires June 2018)

Rooney is just four goals shy of breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time scoring record for Manchester United. (249)
