Man Utd, Chelsea to battle for Stefan di Vrij?

Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea are once again being linked with a transfer tussle for Lazio's Stefan di Vrij.

The Holland international was the subject of interest from the Premier League pair in the summer, but neither were close to Lazio's £52m asking price.

According to The Express, the Dutch defender is the focus of attention this month with Lazio open to offloading their asset at the right price.

Di Vrij is expected to ink a fresh contract in the coming days, and Lazio will seek to include a release clause which is close to their valuation.

The Dutchman missed nearly the entire of last season through a knee injury, but he has regained some of his old form through his showing for Lazio this term.

Lazio are currently just five points adrift of leaders Juventus, and they would no wonder want to keep hold of their player, should there be no further interest.
