Real to return for De Gea in the summer

Real Madrid will revive their long-term interest in Manchester United's David de Gea at the end of the season.

The Spain international was strongly tipped to join the European champions in the summer of 2015 before a delay in paperwork pulled the plug on the deal.

As a result, the 26-year-old committed his future to United on a fresh four-year deal whilst Keylor Navas, who would have moved the other way, remained at the Bernabeu.

According to The Manchester Evening News, Los Blancos will test United's resolve in the summer - a time when their transfer ban will be lifted.

Manager Zinedine Zidane will look to replace Navas before the start of next season, and it is said De Gea is the top option to take up the number one role at the club.

Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois is the other player being linked with the role between the sticks at Real Madrid.
