Bayern favourites to land Bernardo Silva

Bayern Munich are reportedly leading the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid in the race to sign AC Monaco attacker Bernardo Silva in the summer.

The Portugal international has not received much attention in recent weeks following the emergence of fellow teammate Kylian Mbappe who has netted 19 goals across all competitions for Monaco.

Silva has notched six goals and seven assists in the French league this campaign, and his style of play has led to comparisons with Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

The 22-year-old has been tipped for the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award owing to his exceptional showing, and his performances in Monaco's Champions League campaign, in particular, has impressed European scouts.

It had been initially expected that there could be a three-way battle to sign the playmaker with Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid vying for his services, but according to Bild, Carlo Ancelotti's side are confident of beating their rivals to the player.

The Bundesliga holders are expected to table a club-record £70m sum which they deem sufficient to prise away the attacker from the Principality outfit.
