Matteo Darmian news

Darmian set for Milan second coming this summer?

Manchester United's Matteo Darmian will be the subject of an approach from Serie A side Inter Milan when the transfer window reopens in July.

The Italy international has had a mixed campaign with the Red Devils having been in-and-out of the starting lineup during the course of the season.

Darmian had been speculated to be house-hunting during the winter period, and it is understood that he would favour a return to Milan where he became his professional career with Inter rivals AC Milan.

The versatile full-back struggled for first-team during the start of the season with Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia occupying the left and right side of the defence respectively.

However, he managed to retain his position at left-back prior to the festive period which he went on to hold until Mourinho opted to bench him in favour of Marcos Rojo.

Darmian is currently back in reserve for the Mancunian giants, but he could be expected to play some part in the remaining months owing to United's tight schedule due to their Europa League participation.

The former Torino man linked up with United for a £14m fee in 2015, and the club would demand a similar sum for his sale in the summer.
