Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly leading the pursuit to sign Malaga frontman Sandro Ramirez at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who was released by Barcelona a year ago, has made a huge impression at Malaga this season after having notched 14 goals in 30 league outings.

As a result, his stock has only risen in recent weeks with the likes of Sevilla and Everton also interested in a summer deal for his signature.

Ramirez currently has a release clause of just £5.1m in his contract, and according to AS, Atleti will jump forward to acquire his services ahead of other suitors.

The La Liga club are hopeful of having their transfer ban overturned in the summer, and this could see them also sign Alexandre Lacazette from French club Lyon.

Atletico Madrid ended their La Liga season in third place after having accumulated a tally of 78 points - 15 behind newly crowned champions Real Madrid.

With the future of Antoine Griezmann still uncertain, the Spanish club are desperate to reinforce their forward ranks this summer - though they may have to wait until January to play their new recruits if their transfer embargo stays.
