Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will reportedly lodge a formal attempt to sign Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin following this weekend's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

The Spain international has been in and out of the Gunners first-team this season - mainly due to injury, but this has not cooled down interest from his admirers.

Spanish publication Sport suggests that the Citizens will table a sum of around £34m for the young right-back following the Gunners' clash versus Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

The former La Masia student has more than six years left on his existing Gunners deal, but this has not ended speculation over his future with a host of top European clubs vying for his signature.

Barcelona are the other key admirers for the right-sided defender, and they could potentially go on a transfer tussle with the Citizens, who are likely to spend big in the full-back positions.

Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta are among the experienced full-backs, who will be leaving at the expiry of their contracts, and this leaves a void to fill with new recruits.

Bellerin has been earmarked as the best option to rebuild the Citizens backline this summer with Guardiola keen to add players with valuable Premier League experience.
