Man Utd want Spanish striker in De Gea deal

United hoping to have Morata included in De Gea transfer

Manchester United are prepared to lower the asking price of goalkeeper David de Gea, should Real Madrid offer Alvaro Morata as makeweight in a summer deal.

De Gea, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu in recent seasons, and it is suggested that a deal could be finalised this summer, if Los Blancos meet his £60m valuation.

Spanish publication MARCA suggests that the Red Devils are plotting a player-plus-cash deal for De Gea, which could see Morata move the other direction.

Morata is currently valued at around £53m by the Bernabeu giants, but United are hoping to recruit him for just £20m in a proposed deal for De Gea.

The 24-year-old is understood to have recently flown to AC Milan to discuss personal terms over a long-term contract, but it is suggested that both the Rossoneri and United will have to up their bid further in order to prise away Morata from the Bernabeu.

Morata managed to net 15 goals during the recently concluded La Liga campaign despite having played second fiddle to Karim Benzema for most of the season.
