Manchester United will reportedly retain their interest in Brazilian winger Lucas Moura, five years after they missed on his services to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazil international agreed a deal with Les Parisiens from Sao Paulo back in the summer of 2012 after the Ligue 1 holders managed to outbid United with a £38m sum.

Former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was eventually livid on failing to sign the promising attacker, and claimed the 'game had gone mad' following the big-money switch.

According to Sport Witness, the Red Devils could make a surprise move to recruit this summer with Jose Mourinho keen to reinforce his forward ranks ahead of next season.

The Europa League leaders are willing to part with a £30m fee in order to sign the winger, who has notched 19 goals and six assists in all competitions for Les Parisiens this term.

United's hierarchy are understood to have already held initial talks with the Capital club, and a deal could be finalised when the transfer window reopens in a month's time.
