Jose Mourinho provides fresh update on Paul Pogba injury

Mourinho has 'no idea' over Pogba return date

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is unsure when Paul Pogba will be in contention for first-team duties.

The France international pulled his left hamstring during the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel last week, and initial reports (The Times) suggest that the 24-year-old could be out for up to 12 weeks.

Speaking at his news conference prior to the Southampton game, Mourinho was unable to provide an exact timeframe for the injury but has insisted that he won't mourn over the midfielder's absence.

He told reporters, as per ESPN: "I have no idea. No idea. But, again, it's a great opportunity for other players to play and I trust them all.

"So I'm not going to cry or be counting the days until Pogba comes back, not at all. When he comes back, welcome, but until then, I trust my people."

In the absence of Pogba, Marouane Fellaini is likely to continue in midfield alongside Nemanja Matic after his strong performance in the Champions League last week.

Meanwhile, a separate report from The Sun suggests that Pogba has been ordered to take a 10-day vacation as part of his rehabilitation process.
