Prandelli praises Fiorentina
Fiorentina boss Cesare Prandelli praised the semi-final bound Viola after a stunning 2-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven in Holland put them into the next round. Goals from Adrian Mutu either side of half time saw them through.
"I need to congratulate my players," said Prandelli. "They have produced a great performance and I have to thank every one of them.
"We wanted to play well and to give a good image as more than 2,000 Viola fans were in this stadium.
"I think my team were very generous to the fans, we played with character and were convinced that we could do well.
"I think in attack we did a great job," said Prandelli. "We put a lot of pressure on PSV's defence and we were able to control the game and create many goalscoring chances.
"I knew my team were capable of such a performance and I was calm because in the last two training sessions I saw my team in very good form.
"But to do it on the road is all the more impressive."
