Hitzfeld wants Bundesliga focus
Bayern Munich boss Ottmar Hitzfeld has urged his players to focus on the Bundesliga as they continue to open up a ten point gap at the top. Bayern play Borussia Dortmund on Sunday and called for focus after their battles with Getafe in the UEFA Cup. Hitzfeld has also fired a warning at Dortmund; the side Bayern will also be playing in the final of the German Cup.
“The league title is our focus. We want all three points" said Ottmar. “Although the Cup final is obviously in the back of our minds.
“We want to wrap up the league as quickly as possible” he said. “We want to win because we want to maintain or possibly extend our lead. It’s an opportunity we intend to take.
“There are two sides to their character. On a good day they’re a match for anyone, but on a bad day they get beaten, especially away from home. We’ll make sure we have a good line-up capable of beating Dortmund at home. We’re looking forward to the first of two meetings with Dortmund inside six days."
