Guti: The Ref made a mistake
Real Madrid's creative playmaker and fan favourite Jose Maria Guti stated that the referee's decision to book him in the match against Murcia for 'diving in the box' was wrong.
Real Madrid was not awarded a penalty decision in their favour in the last match against Murcia when Guti was tripped inside the box. The referee booked him instead for diving.
Guti stated in the press conference that he did not dive and the club might be going to appeal the ref's decision. "They should rescind the yellow card, the Committee must see that the referee was wrong. They tackled me inside the box, maybe the ref didn't see my play well enough and felt he had to book me."
Guti will miss the next match against Racing Santander who are fighting hard to qualify for a European competition.
The Spaniard was in great form for Real Madrid this season and had been the driving force behind the Whites victory in almost all the matches. His pinpoint passing and creative vision has made him the crowd favourite and he is currently listed as the seventh most valued Spanish player.
