Cavenaghi dreams of Napoli
Bordeaux striker Fernando Cavenaghi has confessed that he would love to make a move to Italian side Napoli at some stage of his career; where his idol Diego Maradona spent a spell of his career. There are reports of a £6 million offer for the Argentinian.
“I know that Napoli were asking after me and that my name is on their shopping list and that fills me with pride,” he told Il Mattino.
“The Partenopei are a rejuvenated and ambitious club with a prestigious past and most of all Naples is a city that intrigues and fascinates me.
“It is a city that runs on football. I know that a great Argentine player Omar Sivori said that to understand what passion is in football every player should play for Napoli at least once.
“I wouldn’t be difficult to negotiate with. However, I can’t forget that I am under contract with Bordeaux and I am grateful to have a contract until 2012 and to be in a club who having an important season.”
