Bolton grab superb victory
Bolton grabbed a remarkable 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the Premiership on Saturday at the Riverside to put their Premiership survival chances back on track.
Early on, on the touchline, Gary Megson was going crazy with angst as he watched his side battle poorly against Boro. In contrast, Gareth Southgate was relaxed and anticipating his side scoring the opening goal of the game - but it wasn't to come.
Bolton snatched the lead courtesy of Gavin McCann’s goal after 59 minutes, and though Middlesbrough continued to enjoy much of the possession, Gary Megson’s men held out to claim an invaluable win in their efforts to avoid the drop.
Teams
Middlesbrough: Turnbull, Young, Wheater, Pogatetz, Taylor (Rochemback 74’), Aliadiere, Boateng, Arca, Alves, Sanli (Johnson 64’). Subs: Steele, Shawky, Grounds
Bolton Wanderers: Al Habsi, Steinsson, O’Brien, Cahill, Samuel, Nolan, Cohen (Guthrie 45’), Campo, McCann, Taylor, Rasiak (Diouf 54’). Subs: Walker, Giannakopoulos, Fojut
