Sheffield United midfielder Michael Tonge has been linked with a move to Newcastle. The 25 year old midfielder has also reportedly attracted the attentions of West Brom and Watford.

Tonge himself is believed to be looking for a move to the Premiership after Sheffield United failed to secure a place in the Premiership next season after missing out on a play off spot.

Tonge admitted he had watched Newcastle in action on his personal website: "I also went to St James' Park to watch Newcastle against Chelsea on Monday. It is a great Stadium and there was a really good atmosphere. I enjoyed it."

Tonge has spent his whole career at United, and a move away is looking more likely.

Kevin Keegan has already revealed that he is going to be busy in the transfer market this summer, and Dennis Wise is also known to be a fan of Tonge.
