Yaya Toure admits Arsenal interest
FC Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has declared his admiration for the Premiership giants Arsenal. In an exclusive interview to SkySports, the Ivory Coast international spoke about his inclination to play alongside elder brother Kolo Toure at the Emirates.
Yaya Toure was signed by Barcelona last summer from French side AS Monaco and the 25-year old settle very quickly into the Barca first team and was one of the first names on the Barcelona team sheet.
But despite his consistency and heroics, Barcelona have had a poor season and have failed to garner any trophy for the second year in a row. The Blaugrana are set to undergo a huge renovation in the summer with at least ten players slated to leave the Camp Nou cathedral.
Although Toure is not one of them, his inclination to join elder brother Kolo at Arsenal would certainly set the transfer rumour mill rolling. Yaya Toure told Sky Sports:
“I am aware of the interest from the Premier League. But I can't say anything yet - however it would be great to play in a big team with my brother, it would be fantastic but you never know.”
Contemplating on Barca’s poor season, the Ivory Coast international remarked:
“Our season was very difficult and for us it is very painful - we are winners and it is difficult. We have so many great players, we don't understand how we are so far behind Real Madrid.
“I want to let the fans know how much we care about this great team, it is the dream of all the players to wear the blaugrana shirt.”
