Valencia to offload Banega
Spanish club Valencia are looking forward to offload their 19-year old Argentine starlet Ever Banega this season after deeming the former Boca Juniors player as surplus to requirements next season.
Banega was signed from Boca Juniors in January this year for a staggering €18million on special request from then Valencia coach Ronald Koeman who now of course is no more at the club. Banega is a central midfielder and is considered a huge promise but his four months in Spain has been rippled with off-the-field tabloid gossips..
Banega was recorded on an internet webcam to be indulging in a sexual orgy and was also charged for a drinking-and-driving offence. He has also been unable to translate his Boca Juniors form at Valencia in the four months that he has been at the Mestalla as he has failed to thread into the Valencia starting line-up.
Valencia’s catastrophic 2007-2008 season implies that they need to sell a number of their players to compensate for the loss in money and it is being thought that Ever Banega could be one of the players who would be on his way out of the Mestalla. Of course Valencia wouldn’t settle for anything less than the €18million that they paid for him in January but the option of offloading the Argentine U-20 international on loan to a fellow Spanish club is also being toyed with.
