"I will give my life" - Lehmann
German goal keeper Jens Lehmann declared that he will give his life to win the European Championship. Germany is inching to reach their sixth time in the Euro final, the semi-final match against a "limping" Turkey might be an easy walk.
Jens Lehmann will retire from international football after the Euro 2008, and he has openly declared how much this Euro means to him. He has already quit his post in Arsenal and has joined German outfit Stuttgart. He stated that he would give his life to win the European Championship.
“It would mean so much and then I could talk of what I will do in the future. I can’t promise victory for my country but I will do what it takes to make sure we are in the final and then to win it. My life is on the line.
“I have been in good form through the entire tournament and the pressure is growing. I like it like that, love the tension and pressure.”
Germany will face a suspension and injury ridden Turkey, without upto nine first team players ruled out, in the semifinal clash.
