Totti and Nesta To Return?
According to the respected Italian sports daily Corriere Dello Sport, Francesco Totti and Alessandro Nesta could well return from international retirement.
The paper speculates that in the aftermath of the sacking of the disgraced national team coach Roberto Donadoni, the Italian federation might well persuade the Italian duo to come out of international retirement.
AS Roma playmaker Francesco Totti retired immediately after the 2006 Germany World Cup while AC Milan central defender Alessandro Nesta retired in October 2006.
It is now being circulated that should the former Italian national team coach Marcelo Lippi be brought back into the national team set-up, the duo could well be persuaded to break their international retirement cocoon and play again for the Azzurri.
