Hatem Ben Arfa has revealed he is delighted to have joined Marseille after joining from Lyon on a £10 million deal this week. The on/off deal was one of the transfer saga's so far this summer.

"I had a deep desire to come here," he said at his official unveiling. "I really don't have any regrets.

"On the contrary, it's a real relief. Life is made up of risks, you have to know when to take them and to go to the end of your principles.

"For me, it was the end at Lyon. It was the end of a cycle, I needed a change of air.

"The Lyon directors sent people from Real Madrid while I was signing at Marseille to push me to sign for them, because that suited them better financially and in a lot of ways.

"But my heart told me to come here."
