AC Milan coach Carlos Ancelotti has once again made the remark that he would like to coach the Italian national team one day.

Ancelotti is regarded as a great coach and has won the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League with his current club AC Milan. But he has always made it clear that he dreams of coaching the Azzurri one day.

In the wake of Marcelo Lippi resigning at the end of the 2006 Germany World Cup, there was a whisper of suspicion that Ancelotto would be made the new Italian national team coach.

But Ancelotti didn\'t go for it as he was engaged to Milan and he job went to Roberto Donadoni who of course has now been sacked by the Italian federation as Italu crached out of the Euro 2008 finals from the last 8 stage. Marcelo Lippi has since taken over.

In an interview with La Stampa, Ancelotti admitted that he would not be against the idea of taking over from Lippi next time around.

\"The idea is not to be discarded if Lippi were to leave,” the 49-year-old stated.

“I think my time will come to train a national team because it is an experience that I yearn for.

“As an Italian I hope that this national team is Italy.

“Even an African team? Why not? It would be fun with those boys running,” he concluded jokingly.
