Martins eyes improvement
Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins is confident that after the Toon secured a wonderful 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Monday night, the club's fortunes will turn around. Joe Kinnear has slowly given the team a new lease of life.
"We don't have to look down any more," Martins told the Newcastle Chronicle. "We should be looking up and going in the other direction.
"If we continue this sort of form, I still think we can finish in a good position. We need to keep on winning and concentrate on the games coming up next.
"But to beat a good team like Aston Villa shows that we are a good side ourselves.
"I hope we can continue like this because we are still in a fight. The only way you can get out of it is by winning games. So I'm happy that we won."
