Kevin Doyle praised by Wolves colle
Kevin Doyle has been inspirational this season and will continue to be the key man in Wolves battle to avoid Premier League relegation.
That is the view of Wolves defender Stephen Ward, who has seen the club's £6.5 million striker score six goals so far this campaign to help Wolves in their relegation dogfight.
Wolves are currently 16th, but worryingly for fans they are only one point ahead of the danger zone with a crucial six-pointer against third bottom Bolton Wanderers to come this weekend. Those looking to place a football bet a Wolves win in the match will be able to get around 3/1
Ward has said that Doyle has been performing brilliantly for Wolves this season, often leading the line alone and having to be "strong and willing" to battle with defenders during games.
"He is a player that will be vital in the run-in because of the way he is playing. He is causing top class defences problems and has been different class," said the Irish defender.
He added that a few of the bigger clubs in the Premier League could be interested in Doyle if Wolves get relegated at the end of the season.
Ward's opinion on Doyle echoes recent comments by Wolves manager Mick McCarthy, who described him as a "very good Premier League player" who is capable of causing problems against all teams in the top flight.
Ensuring his club side avoid relegation would no doubt help Doyle forget the disappointment of missing out on playing in the 2010 Football World Cup.
Ireland were knocked out of the tournament after Thierry Henry's now infamous handball.
