Diego situation tempts Liverpool

Liverpool have registered their interest in Brazilian star Diego. The Wolfsburg player has asked to leave the Bundesliga side and Kenny Dalglish is reported to have discussed a move with his scouts.

Diego has endured a difficult relationship with the Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath, and instructed his agent to help him engineer a move away from the club.

"After this conversation it was clear that further co-operation would be difficult and that it is better to separate," said his coach, Felix Magath.

Liverpool are readying an offer as they look to continue their busy summer transfer plans.
