Higuaín has become a Juventus player

Gonzalo Higuaín's record breaking move to Juventus has been completed, with official confirmation expected imminently.

Juventus have filed the relevant papers with the Italian football authorities confirming their signing of Higuaín from rivals Napoli, with official confirmation from the club expected shortly.

Juventus have activated the 28-year-old Argentinian's mammoth €94 million buyout clause, making Higuaín the most expensive player in Italian football history, and second only to Gareth Bale as the second most expensive player of all time -- although when converted to pounds, Cristiano Ronaldo would still be ahead of him.

Higuaín broke the long standing single season Serie A goal scoring record last season when he netted 36 goals in 35 games to help Napoli finish second in the race for the scudetto.

The former Real Madrid player's move has sparked speculation that Juventus could be set to sell midfielder Paul Pogba to Manchester United for a potential record breaking fee of €120 million.

United and Juventus were locked in negotiations over a potential transfer for Pogba last week, and reports in Italy suggest a deal could soon be agreed.

The Italian champions were thought to be reluctant to part ways with the gifted 23-year-old, but the player has expressed his desire to leave the Turin club so Juventus have agreed that they will let him go if their €120 million valuation is met.

The latest reports suggest that the only obstacle remaining for the Pogba deal is the fee being demanded by his agent Mino Raiola, with Juventus insisting that this cut is covered by United.
