Ronaldo admires the talents of Rashford

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly in favour of working alongside Marcus Rashford at the Bernabeu.

The 19-year-old has become a key player for club and country over the past year, and this has earned him plaudits from former players and pundits.

Rashford contributed 11 goals during Jose Mourinho's first season in charge, and he looks on course to better this feat with five goals already this term.

According to Don Balon, Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane remains the prime target for the European champions in eight months' time, although they have a backup option in hand.

Ronaldo is understood to be pleased with the progress of Rashford, and Real could seek a deal for the teenager, should their approach for Kane be unsuccessful.

Rashford has predominantly featured on the left side of the attack under Mourinho, but he has also excelled playing as the lone striker.

French striker Karim Benzema recently inked a long-term contract with Zinedine Zidane's side, but the club are still on the search for a future replacement.
