Bruno Fernandes speaks on his future with Sporting
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur target Bruno Fernandes has said that he harbours the ambition of joining a bigger club but won't force through his departure from Sporting Lisbon.
The Portugal international was the subject of interest from both United and Spurs over the summer and the latter came close to signing him before the transfer deadline.
Spurs had made an initial £48m bid for the midfielder which was acceptable but the remaining £16m in the form of add-ons seemed complicated, given it involved them winning the Premier League and Champions League.
As a result, Fernandes was declined a transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but that has not affected his performances in the current season, where he has already bagged eight goals and six assists.
Speaking to The Mirror, Fernandes has now revealed that he has the dream of playing for a bigger European outfit and will realise the same sooner rather than later with the blessings of Sporting.
"I have dreams to come true, but I'm not worried, I have no reason to force out, I'm fine, in a club I like. On the day I have to leave, if I have to, I hope to leave a good memory," he said.
