Chelsea midfielder NGolo Kante set to sign new deal
Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is set to put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract, according to Standard Sport.
The Frenchman has been a key player for the west London giants, but he has struggled with regular injuries over the last 18 months.
Kante is currently working on his fitness after a hamstring surgery but the Blues are still prepared to reward him with a renewal.
His current deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign and the London giants are ready to extend his stay for another three years.
Regardless of this, Chelsea are likely to pursue another marquee defensive midfielder when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo and West Ham United's Declan Rice are among the top names under their consideration.
Rice, who was previously in their academy, has been a long-term target, but there are claims that he could prefer to join rivals Arsenal.
The England star wants to be playing Champions League football - something which Chelsea may not offer next season.
