‘Arsenal are miles behind Tottenham, they’ve got big problems’ – Harry Redknapp believes Gunners could drop out of top six
The former Spurs boss predicts another difficult season at the Emirates
Harry Redknapp believes Arsenal have 'big problems' and could drop out of the top six next season as a result.
The Gunners have endured a disastrous summer so far, with several transfer bids rejected and their captain Laurent Koscielny refusing to travel on the pre-season tour of the United States.
Unai Emery guided the club to a disappointing fifth-place finish during his first season in charge - and the Gunners missed out on Champions League football for the third season running following their 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League.
While just a single point separated Arsenal from north London rivals Spurs last season, former Tottenham boss Redknapp expects the gap to increase dramatically during the next campaign.
He told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: "Even though they finished close up to Tottenham in the league last year, I look at the teams now and Arsenal are miles behind Tottenham. They really are.
"And they've got problems. They've got no defenders or midfielders. They're short everywhere. They've got two good front men but they're nowhere near [where they need to be].

"If they're not careful this year, them or Manchester United could drop out of the top six quite easily. I really do think they've got big problems."
Most recently, disgruntled Arsenal fans lashed out at owner Stan Kroenke, calling for 'better leadership' in a strongly-worded statement.
Under a heading of ‘#WeCareDoYou’, the statement criticised the imbalance of the Arsenal board, the ‘soulless’ atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium, and the club’s lack of transfer strategy.
“As Arsenal fans we have watched with frustration as the team’s football performances have declined over the past decade,” the statement read.
“When Stan Kroenke began buying Arsenal shares the club had just competed in a first Champions League final.
“Twelve years on, Arsenal are about to play in the Europa League for the third year running.”
