Ian Harte teased the Leeds fans tonight when he posted a cryptic tweet on his personal page.

The tweet, sent shortly after 7pm, simply said “Fantastic news!!!” and it had Leeds fans flocking onto Twitter to try to get him to reveal more, with one imploring him to “Spill then!”

Harte is the agent of Jack Clarke and fans were speculating that it was either that his client had been given the all-clear after collapsing during the 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough last Saturday, or that he had signed a new contract with Leeds.

Harte wasn’t letting any more information out of the bag though, despite loads of Leeds fans responding to his tweet.

Most of the stuff Harte puts out on his twitter feed is football-related and three of the previous four tweets have been about Clarke.

It could be nothing, but we doubt it – Harte knows that Leeds fans devour his every word and they’re desperate to either see Clarke back on the pitch or to commit his future to Elland Road.

However, chief executive Angus Kinnear said earlier this week that, with the exception of Robbie Gotts, whose contract runs out this week, that other renewals would take place at the end of the season.

Clarke was the subject of heavy speculation over the January transfer window and was linked with a number of huge Premier League sides such as Man City and Tottenham.

Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans desperate to know what the fantastic news is:
